July 7, 2017 Closed Waiting Lists

Due to the planned extensive renovation of both Fort Cumberland Homes and John F. Kennedy Homes in 2018, HUD has approved our request to cease further leasing of these developments.  As current apartments become vacant they will not be re-rented.  This will provide for significant vacant units to be available at the time of the renovation which will decrease the inconvienance to those remainng tenants during the construction period.  Once the renovation is completed in the vacant units, current tenants will be moved to new units.  Once renovation is complete the waiting lists for these developments will be reopended.

RAD is an acroynm for Rental Assistance Demonstration and is a new program offered by HUD which serves as an alternate to the Public Housing Program.  Cumberland Housing applied to HUD in November 2015 to convert all five of our Public Housing development over to the RAD program.  On January 10, 2017, HUD announced that the applications for Fort Cumberland Homes and John F.
